Best “Natural Brand” Foundation: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15, 1.7 oz, $39.
I am a girl who loves me some full coverage foundation, and rarely do
I go for the “natural” type products. This Tarte foundation has shattered my view on them. I LOVE this foundation so much, that it has become my daytime go-to every day.
I really love this foundation because it can be buildable and really full coverage with a full coverage foundation brush, like the Sigma F80, or it can be more natural with a skin finish look by applying it with the Beauty Blender. Either way, the finish is just great.
On sephora.com, the description includes:
“Whether skin is oily, dry, or combination, “skin-smart” Amazonian clay will intuitively adjust to meet and address your skin concerns for makeup that wears better, longer, and truer. This revolutionary foundation reduces the appearance of pores, discolorations, and imperfections and ensures a perfectly flawless complexion every time.”
That to me really is a game changer, because my skin likes to change it up on me all the time. I can be really dry, sometimes combo, sometimes my nose is an oil monster… the versatility really makes this product different, IMO. My skin can have its sensitive days, so it’s also good to know that I am using better ingredients on my face (or at least I like to think so). So I must note that it is formulated without any parabens, sulfates, or phthalates AND Tarte is a cruelty free company! you know how I love my fur-babies 🙂
It is awesome for daytime since it does have some SPF. I don’t always wear my sunscreen during the day like I should, so with this foundation I know I am getting a little bit of protection at least. But, on the flip side, I don’t wear this at night or when I know I will be in photos because it has SPF (see my “no flashback” post here).
My best shade is “Light-Medium Sand” which is described as “light to medium skin with yellow undertone“.
I purchased it at my local Sephora for $39 for a 1.7 oz tube.
